Happy New Year and welcome to 2021! Here’s hoping for calmer waters and smoother sailing.
We have hit the ground running and are currently in production on a new print by Fatima Ronquillo. “Hand with Hummingbird and Lover’s Eye” is a 3 color etching with chine colle. Image size is 8″ x 6″ with paper size measuring 16″ x 14″. This will be printed in an edition of 40 plus proofs.
This has been a wonderful print to work on. It literally has a litany of different techniques involved in its making. Just off the top of my head: soft ground, hard ground, spitbite, aquatint, chine colle, burnishing (and I’m sure a couple of wrinkles I’ve overlooked) all combined to create this provocative and compelling image.
